Ferrand Entre de Mers 2015 France $10
Delicious easy drinking white wine from the Bordeaux region. Made from a blend of 60% Sauvignon Blanc and 40% Semillon, full of crips lemon notes with a hint of grass. Clean and crisp the 2015 vintage is a delicious white wine at a bargain price.
Arindo Verdejo 2015 Spain $12
Verdejo’s home is in the Rueda region of Spain. At one time Verdejo was used in the making of sherry, but in the 80’s the Reuda region was granted DO status, elevating the grape and the region. Arindo is a value oriented Verdejo that drinks above its price tag. Fragrant with nice depth and complexity of flavor with some apricot and spice notes. A clean finish all make for an excellent glass of wine.
Talbott Kali Hart Chardonnay 2014 California $20
100% Estate Grown Chardonnay from the Monterey region in California. Like California style Chardonnay but don’t want to pay Napa Valley prices this is a good place to look. Medium to full bodied with pear notes with a hint of oak and toast. This Chardonnay is well balanced and very drinkable at a great price to quality ratio.
Brick House Chardonnay 2014 Oregon $40
Brick House farm is a unique place and if I were a grape I’d want to live and grow there. They were certified organic in 1990, they practice Biodynamic farming with conviction. They have created a microcosm for grape growing that is unparalleled, they are, were pioneers. The Cascadia Chardonnay is a wine made from whole cluster pressed fruit, aged in French oak for 18 months and then bottled unfiltered. The result is a delicious Chardonnay with pristine fruit flavors with the right nuance of oak. In short, delicious and special!
Christoper Michael Red Blend 2014 Wa $13
Christopher Michael is the partnership of the Harms brothers Eric Christopher and Ryan Michael. The brothers wanted to create wines that had value and were accessible to all budgets. Christopher Michael was born. They work specifically with farmers committed to sustainable farming practices. The result is easy drinking wines with good quality. The red blend is made up of 54% Syrah, 20% Barbera, 10% Cabernet Franc, 9% Petit Verdot, 4% Malbec and 3% Grenache. 2014 was a good growing season and it shows in this plush, fruit forward wine that is smooth with no edges. Easy to drink at a good price.
Helfenbien Syrah 2015 France $16
This vin de pay(country wine) is rustic but seems to be a wine I gravitate to recently as I’ve tried a couple of bottles(making sure it is good enough to put in the newsletter of course) and each time I’m pleased. Full of dark fruit flavors with prominent tannins and a slight rustic edge. Could this be dark and brooding? Not quite but it is a charming red that grows on you. Try this with some spicy food, you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Browne Heritage 2014 Wa $20
Great value in Washington wine from Browne Family Vineyards. This full bodied red wine is made from 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petite Sirah. Full of dark berry fruit with some black cherry undertones with a good finish, this wine produces for 20 bucks! It is a good vintage so this may develop with some time as well. Good buy, buy it by the case, you’ll be happy to have it.
Palacios Camins del Priorat 2015 Spain $25
This is a consistent winner in my book. A blend of Garnacha, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah, it is medium to full bodied with lush fruit flavors of berry and plum. This is the entry level wine for Alvaro Palacios, creator of the famed wine L’Ermita, which effectively revitalized Priorat as a wine region. This wine gives you some bang for the buck.
La Massa Giorgio Primo 2009 Italy $55
Save $30 on this “Super Tuscan” blend from a top producer in the Panzano region in Tuscany. The distributor is not working with these guys any more, meaning they probably jumped ship to another producer so they are closing out the wines. That is great news for us. Normally this wine would go for $85, this is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot and it is delicious. I’ve been drinking this wine for over a decade and it never disappoints, it was just always expensive. Now I can pop a cork without as much guilt. I have a limited supply, when it’s gone, it’s gone.
Glaetzer Amon Ra 2014 Australia $100
Amon Ra is quietly becoming an iconic Australian wine. I’ve never seen it score less than 95 points and usually it is 98-100. I haven’t seen this vintage’s score yet but after tasting it I’m guessing it will be 98+. This is a big, juicy red that needs plenty of time to show it’s stuff. 100% Shiraz from Barossa this wine is special. Very limited supply as it was just released, grab it before the big score comes out.
Mix and match any above in a 12 bottle quantity for a 10% case discount. If I don’t have what you are looking for, ask. I’ll try and special order anything you are looking for. If I can get it. I’ll order it! 10% off on all special order cases too!
